Facades are treated sculpturally, creating a geometric pattern of solid and transparent areas.
Pilasters and recesses work together with the windows to provide verticality to the compact and otherwise monolithic volume of the building, reducing its solidity in height, until the barred cornice terminates the silhouette in clean sharp lines, in contrast to the randomly amorphous skyline of the surroundings.
